MPS Group Environmental Project/Resource Manager

Typical Duties include:

  • Ensures that contract and/or subcontract requirements are being met.
  • Communicates with clients, subcontractors and supervisors, any changes or discrepancies in contract and/or subcontract requirements.
  • Analyzes financial performance of contracts.
  • Coordinates client “in-plant” waste management systems
  • Samples and prepares waste material samples for analysis.
  • Identifies and characterizes waste materials.
  • Prepares manifests for all shipments of waste.
  • Coordinates scheduling and pickup of waste for third party disposal.
  • Coordinates the procurement of necessary waste containers.
  • Tracks manifests, match documents, file.
  • Performs and documents waste accumulation for area inspections
  • Evaluates wastestreams for recycling/pollution prevention programs.
  • Analyzes costs/benefits of pollution prevention program
  • Supervises personnel necessary to fulfill requirements of contracts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customer and general public.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Laws.

Product Engineering Manager - Niles, IL

MAJOR PURPOSE: Provide Engineering project management in the development, evaluation and implementation of new product introductions for GGS.

  • MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: ENGINEERING LEADERSHIP/PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
  • Evaluate highly complex and technical products for compliance with performance, quality, reliability and safety per specifications dictated by GGS and governmental agencies. Provide product evaluation reports, Technical Specifications and QA sheets per project schedule. Provide SQE with guidance in preparing Technical Specifications. Approve production samples.
  • Develop and apply appropriate testing and evaluation methods to recommend product, technology, quality and cost improvements. Monitor and report on continuous improvement initiatives for category specific products.

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to assigned product team to include facilitation of goal-setting and objective prioritization.

  • Implement and lead assigned Value-Engineering efforts to drive down product cost while maintaining product quality and reliability.

  • Develop and deliver presentations to cross functional groups regarding department activities, processes, best practices, and product education.

  • Analyze product warranty returns and author monthly reports that determine root cause. Provide corrective action so products meet or exceed quality and performance expectations.

Customer Operations/Power Generation Group

We employee engineers to help design systems and equipment that keep the energy flowing to our customers.  We Energies is currently looking for engineers (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) who can independently evaluate, select and apply appropriate engineering techniques and practices to multiple engineering projects.  Will provide technical support, prepare specifications and have financial responsibility for a wide variety of engineering projects. 

Engineers that support our Customer Operations department can be involved in a variety of projects.  Examples include:

Gas Operation Engineers evaluate the need for revisions/additions to our Construction Standards and Operations/Maintenance Manuals, and assists coordinates training and implementation.  Evaluations may require technical analysis of construction materials and equipment, review of construction and O & M practices, interviews with individuals suggesting changes, field observation, and review of governmental and industry codes.

Substation Engineers are responsible for commissioning newly constructed or modified distribution equipment, substation equipment and transmission facilities.  Must ensure correct function and documentation of substation and transmission components, protection schemes and control systems that will be released for control by both Electric Distribution Operations and ATC System Operators.

Planning Development Engineers perform analysis to support planning studies and forecasts, coordinating system-wide planning efforts, and developing new information, methods, and tools for planning, risk analysis, and asset management.

Power Plant Engineers utilize current processes to monitor and evaluate system performance and equipment to minimize lifecycle costs, while maintaining reliability, safety, performance and regulatory compliance. 

Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.  PE license is desirable.  Strong analytical capabilities are required as is the ability to travel to other plant sites and be willing to be called in during off hours if problems arise.
